Wordless Wednesday: Oct 7th, 2015 – #TrigeminalNeuralgiaAwareness

TN CN Tower

Today is the annual Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day and it just so happens it is also Wordless Wednesday! Coincidence? I think not. 🙂 One of the best ways to get your message out to the world is by sharing a photo, something funny or with a message, so people will want to check it out.  Today my daughter Emily wore her Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) t-shirt to school because she has this horrible disease and she wants everyone to know about it and help spread awareness so that a cure can one day be found.  The colour for TN is teal and today we helped to #TurnTheWorldTeal. Even the CN Tower in Toronto did!

Trigeminal Neuralgia

Trigeminal Neuralgia

TN runs in our family and Emily is the fifth generation to get it. It is the one thing I wish I had not passed on to my child and I pray that my son is spared. Trigeminal Neuralgia has the distinction of being knows as “The Suicide Disease” because that pain is that bad. I know first hand because I am a TN Survivor. If you have a minute take a look at these posts I wrote awhile ago, “The Impact of Trigeminal Neuralgia: I Thought We Had More Time” and “The Suicide Disease.”

I’m so glad the the CN Tower was light teal to promote Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day. I’m sorry that you and your daughter have this horrible disease and have to deal with the pain that comes with it.

I simply can’t imagine how horrible it must be to live with this disease, I do hope that one day soon a cure is found and that people no longer have to suffer like this.

I had a friend who had this and it seems like the pain is crippling.
