Disney’s #Zootopia Is A Wild Ride – Don’t Miss It!

Slap the name Disney on a movie and I am all over that. I don’t care if the pre-release whispers say the movie will tank; if it is good enough for Walt, it is good enough for me.  Recently we took in a screening of Disney’s latest animated feature, Zootopia and guess what? It was great and not just because it is a Disney film. 🙂

“From the largest elephant to the smallest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive. When Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a wily fox who makes her job even harder.”

Animals wearing people clothes is always a cute gag, but add in the little guy (or in this case, girl) being knocked down by everyone and that same little err, girl, rising above it all and you have a sweet, clever movie. Right from the start my son was jumping up and down with exclamations about different things.  At the age of seven he tends to lose interest about half way into a show, but not with Zootopia. He loved it! The movie ends with a concert type vibe and William still had the energy to dance his butt off. 🙂  The two young teens in our group appeared to like the show, but afterward this was proven when they told me it was great! To get two thumbs up from a teen is a huge endorsement, trust me. 🙂

We rounded out the fun by posing for a #Zelfie, a Zootopia selfie and shared that on Twitter with the other movie goers.  While I did find the movie to be a bit long at 108 minutes, it kept me entertained.  I love the adult humour that is injected and there were several laugh out loud scenes and comments that had many adults in the audience just roaring!

I definitely recommend grabbing your monkeys and taking them to see Zootopia this March Break. It is great fun for everyone!

Have you seen, or plan to see, Zootopia?
